My Bookshelf

When I was little my biggest rebellion was sneaking out of bed to read by the crack of light that streamed into my bedroom from the hallway.  These days I'm lucky to have the energy or opportunity to read uninterrupted for any length of time. There are seasons I read more avidly and sometimes it doesn't happen at all. But, I will always long for those days of inhibition where my greatest desire was to stay up reading until wee hours of the morning.

Now, I think it is fun to catch our girls doing the same.                                                                  I try to be firm, but in my heart, I'm winking.

The list below is in no way comprehensive of all the books I love or that I have read but includes a few that have touched me deeply the past few years.  It is an eclectic assortment of practical, theological, even some children's books, and a few just because they made me laugh, made me cry, gave me life, or challenged my thinking in some way.
